Meet the Publishers: Jonathan Reddoch

By Jonathan Reddoch

I am originally from California, but I’ve lived in Utah for over 15 years now (whoa, time flies!). I have two wacky little daughters that are a handful and so much fun. I studied editing in college and have been a professional copy editor and writer for many years, working mainly in higher education.

Recently, however, during the “day” (often nights and weekends), I have enjoyed working as a freelance writer and editor, ever since being laid off from my full-time job due to the Covid pandemic.

Losing my job turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it freed me up to focus on our fledgling company, Collective Tales Publishing, which we officially founded in Summer 2020, amidst the unprecedented crisis.

Starting an independent publisher is something I always wanted to do but never had the time or energy for. I also never had a business partner. Luckily, I have the best business partner ever with Elizabeth Suggs. Together we make this thing hum along.

While most of my writing is boring educational material, I have a few interesting publications and many more on the way. Keep an eye out if you enjoy inventive (some say witty) short fiction.

My story “Padua’s Eyes” is featured Collective Darkness: A Horror Anthology is our Amazon bestseller. But you may also enjoy my poem “The Piper’s Song” in Little Darkness, available for only 99c on Kindle. And if you can’t get enough of that, more of my poetry will be featured in the new anthology Hope Screams Eternal published by Unsettling Reads.
